National agencies

Slovenia is intensively welcoming foreign business partners and investors in the last period and has sold shares in companies that are directly or indirectly owned by the state. The portal Invest Slovenia - www.investslovenia.org – offers, in one place, collected information on: the macroeconomic environment, industry, legal frameworks, investment opportunities...

Those interested in investing in our country can receive various forms of support from multiple institutions, the crucial being:

  • the Ministry of Economic Development and Technology, which pursues an active policy of encouraging foreign direct investment, including the allocation of financial incentives for foreign direct investment,
  • the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as economic advisers at the embassies and consulates provide basic information to interested foreign investors.

The central service of attracting foreign investment performs SPIRIT, agency which offers information and advice; organizes visits for foreign investors and granting financial incentives.

Another source of useful information and services is the umbrella business association - Slovenian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
